The movers were professional and able to move an extra large couch through a very tight space, that seemed nearly impossible. They worked quickly and efficiently as well.Posted on Google![]()

A friend recommended Moving of America, and choosing them was one of the best decisions I made. The team worked efficiently, and my foreman made sure everything was handled properly, wrapped carefully, and completed according to my requests. I highly recommend Moving of America. A special thank-you to Joey for his amazing attention and support, from the very first phone call until the end of my move.Posted on Google![]()

We had an excellent experience with our move today. The team worked from 10am to 5:15pm in extremely hot weather, and our new home has lots of stairs on a hill—definitely not an easy job. Despite that, all four movers were professional, efficient, and handled everything with great care. They stayed positive the entire time and truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend!Posted on Google![]()

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Moving of America! The entire team was professional, friendly, careful, and incredibly hardworking from start to finish. They arrived on time, handled all of our furniture and belongings with great care, and made sure everything arrived safely at our new home. I would highly recommend them for your next move!

Moving from New Jersey to Nevada means a cross-country move of about 2,450 miles, and the mover you choose decides how smoothly it goes. Moving of America has handled interstate moves from New Jersey since 2007 as a licensed carrier, not a broker, so the same company is responsible for your belongings from pickup to delivery.
Every NJ to Nevada move starts with a detailed inventory and a written binding estimate, so the price you sign is the price you pay. We plan the route around the season, including winter mountain conditions out West, and pack for Nevada’s desert heat so sensitive items arrive in good condition.
Our team handles the full move: packing and unpacking, furniture disassembly and reassembly, loading, transport, and delivery to Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, Sparks, and communities across the state. If your closing dates don’t line up, storage-in-transit keeps your belongings secure until your new home is ready.
Whether you’re retiring, relocating for work, or moving your family across the country, Moving of America gives you a fixed price, a dedicated crew, and a real delivery date in writing.
Finding NJ to Nevada Movers you can actually trust is harder than it should be. Almost everyone has a story about a two-week delivery window, a quote that changed at the curb, or a company they had never heard of showing up at the door.
Moving of America has moved New Jersey households and offices across state lines since 2007, and here is what that looks like on the 2,450-mile Nevada corridor.
Many cross-country movers combine several households on one truck to lower costs. This is called a consolidated shipment, and it’s a common, legitimate way to make a long-distance move more affordable. The problem is when movers don’t explain how it affects your delivery date.
With a consolidated shipment, your belongings may wait in a warehouse until the truck is full, then arrive within a range of dates called a delivery spread. A spread is normal. Not being told about it is not.
Before you book your move from New Jersey to Nevada, get these four answers in writing:
At Moving of America, we offer dedicated shipments on this route when your household size allows it. When it doesn’t, we put the delivery spread in writing before you sign. That’s what you should expect from trusted long-distance movers.
We do. We deliver statewide, from the Las Vegas Valley, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Boulder City at roughly 2,450 miles, up to Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and Incline Village at roughly 2,700, and out to Pahrump, Mesquite, Laughlin, Elko, and Winnemucca. Las Vegas and Reno are not the same lane operationally, and we do not quote them as though they were.
A carrier. Moving of America holds active federal operating authority under USDOT #1601312 and MC #592337, and your goods move on our equipment with our crews. No broker, no handoff to a partner carrier somewhere in the middle of the country. You know exactly which company is driving your household across four mountain states.
Nobody likes agreeing to one number and seeing a different one on the invoice. On interstate moves, that usually happens because the estimate was non-binding.
Federal rules cap what a carrier can collect at delivery at 110 percent of a non-binding estimate, and on a cross-country move that 10 percent is a real number arriving at the worst possible moment, at your new front door, with your belongings still on the truck.
Moving of America issues written, binding estimates based on a room-by-room inventory, not an hourly guess over the phone. The price is fixed at signing and doesn’t change because the load weighed more than expected.
Your price depends on the inventory, packing services, shipment type, access at both addresses, and your dates. Las Vegas and Reno require different route plans, so your actual destination matters. Request a written estimate listing the items and services included; discuss any changes before loading.
Not with us. Labor, truck, equipment, and the route plan are all inside the binding estimate. If your destination needs a shuttle because a 26-foot truck cannot reach the address, or a gated community requires a Certificate of Insurance, we identify it during the survey and price it then. Nothing gets sprung on you 2,450 miles from home.
Plenty of interstate movers load in one state, unload in another, and call that the job. We handle packing and unpacking, furniture disassembly and reassembly, loading and unloading, shuttle transfers when a truck cannot reach the door, and storage in transit if your Nevada closing does not line up with your New Jersey move-out date.
We also handle the paperwork the last hundred feet actually runs on: gate registration for master-planned communities like Summerlin, Anthem, and Green Valley, and freight elevator reservations for Strip corridor and Downtown high-rises. Both run on calendars you cannot shorten during move week.
Residential and commercial moving, packing and unpacking, disassembly and reassembly, loading and unloading, shuttle service for addresses a full-size truck cannot reach, HOA gate registration, COI issuance for communities and buildings that require one, climate-controlled transport for heat-sensitive items, and both short and long-term storage at our climate-controlled Ridgefield facility.
Absolutely, and most customers on this route do. Full pack, partial pack, or fragile only. Our team brings the materials and handles anything that needs special wrapping.
On this lane we also flag heat-sensitive categories during the survey, because candles, vinyl, photographs, wine, and LCD electronics do not survive a closed trailer in the Las Vegas Valley in August. Every carton is tagged against your inventory so you can verify at delivery that everything that went on the truck came off it.
On a cross-country move, a crew has your belongings for the better part of two weeks, which raises the stakes on who you let in the door. Every person on our team is background-checked and trained by us. No day laborers and no subcontractors.
Moving of America is fully licensed, insured, and accredited: NJ License #39PC00096600, USDOT #1601312, MC

Yes, fully. As a federally regulated carrier we provide the FMCSA rights pamphlet, a written binding estimate, a Bill of Lading, and your valuation options in writing. Valuation is not the same as insurance, and on a 2,450-mile shipment your Move Advisor will explain the difference before you choose. You can verify our authority yourself at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov under USDOT #1601312.
Every one of them, including the crew running the final leg if your shipment transfers to a shuttle for a gated community or a high-rise dock. We take this seriously because on a move this long you are trusting us with everything you own for days at a time.
The same three things almost every time: we arrived when we said we would, we were careful with their belongings, and the final invoice matched the estimate. On a lane this long people add a fourth, which is that they could reach a real person and get a straight answer while their shipment was somewhere in Nevada.
Because the things that sink this route all run on clocks you cannot compress. Nevadas chain season starts September 1 regardless of weather. Summer unloads in the Las Vegas Valley have to start at first light. A Certificate of Insurance takes a day or two to issue, and a gatehouse will not let a truck through without one. Booking early, locking a binding estimate, and getting your dispatch date, delivery spread, and shipment type in writing removes every one of those risks before the truck leaves New Jersey.
New Jersey to Nevada Distance
A consolidated shipment shares a truck with other households. Your things may wait before dispatch, and delivery depends on the other stops along the route. This can lower your cost, but it also means the truck may not leave as soon as it is loaded.
Before you book, ask your mover to confirm your dispatch date, your first delivery date, and the length of your delivery spread in writing. Also ask whether your shipment is consolidated or dedicated to your household, and whether your things will change trucks or teams along the way.
We at Moving of America offer dedicated shipments when they fit your move, and we put your delivery window in writing. Learn more about our long-distance moving services.
Your route depends on where you are moving in Nevada and the conditions at dispatch. A Las Vegas move may use I-70 through Colorado and I-15 through Utah. A Reno move usually comes in on I-80 from the east and does not need to cross Donner Pass. Deliveries farther west or near Lake Tahoe need their own weather check.
Snow, wind, road closures, and truck restrictions can affect the trip. Your coordinator will confirm the planned route and explain any weather change to your delivery window.
Our full-service moving team plans each move around your destination and the season.
Summer heat in southern Nevada affects how you pack. A closed trailer can get hotter than the outside air, so point out heat-sensitive items during your moving survey.
Candles can melt, and vinyl records, photos, and negatives can warp or stick together. Wine, electronics, batteries, wooden instruments, artwork, leather, cosmetics, and medications also need care. Some of these may need special handling or separate transport, so ask what your mover accepts and do not assume the truck is climate-controlled.
One experienced team handles your cross-country move, from the first list of your things to setting up your new Nevada home.

Pick your MoveView Package, from Starter Move to White Glove, and pay only for the services you need.
We plan the route for your season and destination, then check HOA rules, gated community access, elevator bookings, and insurance certificates at your new Nevada address.
Based on your package, our team packs and protects your things for the long drive west, with extra care for heat-sensitive items. You get an itemized list before loading.
You sign the Bill of Lading, then our team loads the truck with protection for your floors, doors, and belongings.
Your shipment travels cross-country to Las Vegas, Reno, or wherever you are moving in Nevada. Your dispatch date and delivery window are confirmed in writing.
Our team unloads, puts your furniture back together, places everything where you want it, and removes packing materials on request.
We deliver to communities across Nevada. Your estimate and route plan are based on the actual delivery address, not a single statewide mileage figure.
Regions we serve include:
Southern Nevada deliveries require planning for heat and community access. Northern Nevada destinations require a separate route and weather assessment. A Reno delivery approaching from the east does not normally cross Donner Pass; a Tahoe-area address may have additional mountain-access requirements.
Moving of America determines your moving costs based on a comprehensive inventory of your household goods, rather than relying on hourly rates or weight estimates. This method ensures you receive a binding estimate that remains fixed once agreed upon, giving you certainty as you plan your long-distance move. Contact our team for a written NJ to Nevada moving estimate based on your inventory, destination, and selected services.
Transit times generally range from five to ten business days, depending on your home’s size and shipment type. For example, a studio or one-bedroom move typically delivers within five to eight business days, while two- and three-bedroom homes may require up to ten business days. Moves involving four or more bedrooms usually fall within a similar delivery window.
These timeframes assume a dedicated shipment; if your move is part of a consolidated shipment, delivery may take longer and will always be quoted as a delivery spread with specific dates rather than a fixed range. Our operations team confirms all cost and transit estimates before issuing your final agreement.
Over our decades of caring for our customers’ valuables, we’ve learned that not every move is the same. That’s why we offer flexible moving packages so you can get exactly what you need and nothing you don’t.
A binding estimate sets the price for the inventory and services listed in writing. Extra items or services can require a revised agreement, so disclose packing needs, stairs, elevators, and access restrictions before loading.
A non-binding estimate is not a guaranteed final price. Federal rules generally limit collection for the estimated services at delivery to 110 percent of the estimate, with additional rules for extra services and impracticable operations.
Moving of America provides written binding estimates. Review the included services and confirm any changes in writing before your move.
As an FMCSA-licensed interstate carrier, USDOT #1601312, MC #592337, Moving of America is required to provide every customer with:
Verify our federal operating authority at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov. Search USDOT #1601312.
One point specific to long-haul lanes. Brokers are most common where routes are longest, because the margin comes from arranging rather than driving. A broker isn’t required to disclose which carrier will show up at your door, and on a coast-to-coast move that can mean the difference between one accountable company and a chain of subcontractors.
Ask any bidder for a USDOT and MC number and check it before you pay a deposit.
The drive is roughly 2,450 road miles to Las Vegas and about 2,700 to Reno. A dedicated shipment typically arrives in 5 to 10 business days from dispatch. A consolidated shipment sharing a trailer with other households takes longer and should be quoted as a delivery spread with a stated number of days, not a vague window.
A delivery spread is the range of dates within which a consolidated shipment will arrive. On a 2,450-mile lane, a spread is normal and often the reason the move is affordable. What is not acceptable is being given one without explanation. Get your dispatch date, your first available delivery date, the length of the spread, and whether your goods will transfer trailers or crews in transit, all in writing, before you sign.
It can, and the vulnerable categories surprise people: candles and wax, vinyl records, photographs, wine and spirits, sealed or pressurized items, LCD electronics, musical instruments, artwork, leather, and most medications. Las Vegas hit an all-time high of 120 degrees in July 2024, and a closed trailer runs hotter than the outside air. During the survey, we identify heat-sensitive items and move them separately or in climate-controlled transport.
For the Las Vegas Valley, cooler months can make loading and unloading more comfortable. For Reno and northern Nevada, compare weather conditions and availability for your specific dates. Reno-bound shipments approaching from the east do not normally cross Donner Pass. Tell your coordinator if your dates are fixed so the route and delivery window can be planned accordingly.
It affects routing and equipment, not your price in a binding estimate. From September 1 through May 31, commercial vehicles on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison must carry chains regardless of current weather conditions, and when the chain law is in effect, trucks weighing 26,001 pounds or more must chain four or more drive wheels. The Eisenhower-Johnson Tunnel also caps vehicle height at 13 feet 11 inches. These are planned for at dispatch.
A carrier. Moving of America holds active federal operating authority under USDOT #1601312 and MC #592337, and moves your goods using our own equipment and crews. A broker arranges your move and sells it on, which is how a company you have never spoken to ends up at your door two thousand miles from where you hired someone.
Keep your Bill of Lading and your household goods inventory. Both are dated third-party records showing when your household left New Jersey and arrived in Nevada, which is the kind of documentation people establishing Nevada domicile typically assemble. We are not tax advisers, and your CPA should handle the substance, but ask us for duplicate copies if you misplace either one; we can reissue them.
Storage-in-transit bridges it. Your goods stay inventoried in our climate-controlled Ridgefield facility and ship when your new home is ready. During a cross-country move, this is common and usually cheaper than paying to hold a shipment at the destination.

Planning a move from New Jersey to Nevada? Contact Moving of America to discuss your inventory, delivery location, and moving schedule.
Moving of America has operated from Ridgefield, New Jersey, since 2007, moving households across state lines under federal authority as a licensed carrier, never as a broker. On the Nevada corridor, that means one accountable company for all 2,450 miles, and a written answer to the question that actually matters: where are my things, and when will they be here?
It also means a plan built for the route you are actually taking. Chains through Colorado from September. A dawn unload in the Las Vegas Valley in August. A certificate of insurance filed with your community before the truck reaches the gate. A Bill of Lading you should keep.
You are moving your entire household most of the way across the country. You have the right to know exactly who is driving it.
